Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 26, the Terrorism Risk Reauthorization Act (TRIA) of 2015:

“Last month, the House passed a reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) by a strong bipartisan vote of 417—7. Unfortunately, it never made it through Harry Reid’s Senate. So, continuing the House’s record of bipartisanship, we again passed TRIA by a vote of 416—5. I would like to commend Chairman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05) and Representative Randy Neugebauer (TX-19) for crafting a bill that reduces taxpayer liability and provides certainty in the markets for insuring against potential acts of terrorism.”
