Baseball is back. And it’s more than a game. It’s America’s national pastime.

So many memories can be traced back to baseball, and it holds special meaning for our nation during times of crisis. Who can forget President Bush’s first pitch after September 11th? The crowd chanting U-S-A after he delivered a perfect strike. That pitch was our first step towards healing and a sure sign that America will overcome.

I know baseball will look and feel a little different this season. But I hope seeing our teams return to the field will bring a little joy to your families this summer. To all the players, coaches, and staff: have fun, be safe, and PLAY BALL!
