Earlier this week President Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney defended the President’s refusal to offer a plan to address our impending debt crisis, stating that “leadership is not about proposing a plan.”

Jay Carney Says That Leadership Is Not Proposing A Plan. “MR. CARNEY: Leadership is not proposing a plan for the sake of having it voted up or down, and likely voted down, because it is — look, you know how this town works and how Congress works.” (Jay Carney, Press Briefing, 7/19/11)

Well the White House must believe the same thing about the President’s responsibility to have a plan to grow our economy and create jobs. This surely is not lost on the American people who strongly disapprove of the President’s handling of the economy.

57% Of Americans Disapprove Of President Obama’s Handling Of The Economy. “Fifty-seven percent of all Americans disapprove of the way the president is handling the economy.”(“Post-ABC poll: GOP Too Dug In On Debt Talks; Public Fears Default Consequences,” The Washington Post, 7/21/11)
