When it comes to Obamacare, the self-proclaimed “most transparent administration in history” apparently doesn’t want the American people to know any bad news.
The Associated Press reported today that the Obama administration refuses to tell the people about the security—or lack thereof—of Healthcare.gov. After the complete failure of the launch of Healthcare.gov last October, many Americans wondered if they could trust the online system with sensitive personal information like their social security numbers and home addresses. If the Obama Administration couldn’t even create a website that worked, how could it safeguard Americans’ private information on that website?
The Administration’s unwillingness to let the American people know how their information is being handled is worrisome. From the beginning, this Administration has not been forthcoming in providing information about Obamacare. Months after the rollout, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy asked many questions that remain unanswered today, such as how many of the enrollees from the first enrollment period were previously uninsured and how many had lost their former coverage because of Obamacare.
Americans have a right to know if their private information that the federal government is forcing them to report is safe. Why won’t the Administration tell them?
