Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 158, the Visa Waiver Program Improvement Act:

“The weaknesses and gaps in our visa waiver program leave the American people vulnerable to terrorism. So the House has acted early to prevent terrorists from abusing the visa waiver program and coming to America with very little scrutiny. The House bill passed with near unanimous support, underscoring how important these visa waiver reforms are and how little disagreement there is on the need for these policies. But the House won’t stop here. We will continue to review vulnerabilities to our homeland, working to produce more legislative solutions to keep America safe.”
