Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on House passage of H.R. 515, the International Megan’s Law to Prevent Child Exploitation and Other Sexual Crimes Through Advanced Notification of Traveling Sex Offenders:

“When it comes to child sex offenders, we can’t take any chances for them to slip through the cracks. With overwhelming support, the House passed Megan’s Law, strengthening our commitment to the victims of child sex offenders and youth trafficking. This bill improves information sharing at the federal and international level to ensure accuracy and accountability in how we keep track of sex offenders. With proper vigilance and improved policy, we can keep our children safe from these heinous crimes.”
