Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) spoke at a House Republican leadership press conference today on the House moving forward despite the Democrats’ civil war:

Remarks are below or watch online here.

“Good morning. Now, I know the other side is in disarray, and that does not mean that the House stops its business, despite the Democrats being in a civil war or threatening to shut the government down. You will find this House continues to do its work and fulfill its promises.

“If you look at the two major bills that we have up this week, it’s keeping our promise to American seniors, those that Obamacare has been harmful to—increasing the cost, harming the choice that we have in health care. So, you will find the Independent Payment Advisory Board repeal and the medical device tax repeal.

“Watch the vote on these bills. Both of them will be bipartisan…. This House continues to move forward despite what’s going on on the other side. We think it’s the responsible thing to do.”
