On Rising Gas Prices And The Failure Of President & Washington Democrats To Act:

“The way out is to produce American energy. Listen to what the Democrats are saying. You have Steny Hoyer, the Minority Whip, concerned on how the energy crisis affects the Administration. Senator Schumer’s answer is to get the State Department to talk to Saudi Arabia to produce more oil. Then you have the President saying ‘no’ to the Keystone pipeline.”

On Ensuring America’s Energy Future:

“There is an ability to produce our own energy. You know what happens when we produce our own energy in America? You don’t send your money somewhere else, and you create American jobs. That’s why, in the House, we have passed an energy bill a couple of weeks ago – we will continue to do this. There is a way out of it, and this shouldn’t be about political concerns. We should be more concerned with how this affects Americans instead of how it affects the Administration.”

On The Bipartisan JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act:

“Startups and small businesses account for all of the job creation we’ve had since 1977. The toughest part of starting a small business is access to capital becauseof regulations and red tape, and the entrance to market is too expensive. This bill, there are six provisions in itand is bipartisan, will allow greater access and allow more startups to get this country moving again.”

On Democrats’ Suggestions That The JOBS Act – Which Will Spur Small Business Growth & Create Jobs – Is A “Waste Of Time”:

“I say Is it a waste time when unemployment is above 8 percent for 36 straight months? That’s why they are so far out of touch, and I think all Americans want to see jobs created in America.”
