Washington, D.C. — Today, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) issued the following statement on the heels of the Senate’s passage of the Clay Hunt SAV Act:

“Today’s action in the Senate is a critical step forward in assisting our men and women of our military who return home from war. Too often, wounds in mind and body endure long after their service has ended. This bill, named after a young marine named Clay Hunt, will help provide our veterans with the access to mental health care resources they need, preventing more tragedies in our veterans community. As this bill heads to the President’s desk for his signature, it will be wonderful to see the relentless advocacy of Clay’s parents come to fruition.”
