Washington, D.C. – House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) issued the following statement upon the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick to the Middle East Partnership for Peace (MEPPA) Advisory Board:

“Dina Powell McCormick is an outstanding businesswoman, valued advisor, and highly-regarded specialist in Middle East affairs who has served at the highest levels of national security and foreign policy in our government.

“Most recently as deputy national security advisor, Dina played an important role on the team that paved the way for the Abraham Accords. These historic peace agreements have enhanced economic, social and diplomatic cooperation between Israel and many countries in the region.

“Additionally, Dina has dedicated her life to building and investing in programs that empower women and provide expertise and business skills for entrepreneurs globally and throughout the Middle East. These initiatives have made a significant impact in the region and encouraged economic development, mutual cooperation and understanding.

“The MEPPA Board needs leaders like Dina to accomplish its mission of building a lasting peace. The board will benefit greatly from her sage advice.”
