Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, House Republican Leader McCarthy (CA-23)  sent a letter to the Office of Management and Budget, Office of Personnel Management, and the U.S. General Services Administration expressing his concern regarding in-person staffing levels at Federal offices given the vaccination levels amongst employees. “How many people are actually working? Because it’s not working for the American public,” Leader McCarthy said during an interview with Laura Ingraham.

In the letter, Leader McCarthy noted that “there are currently 256,369 backlogged veteran benefits claims still awaiting VA review, due largely to the suspension of in-person benefits examinations,” and “that Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees have answered incoming calls, on average, only 14 percent of the time over the course of this past year.”

During his interview, McCarthy also pointed out that Democrats in Congress are complicit in pushing the perpetual pandemic state and failing to properly serve the American people because of their unconstitutional proxy voting scheme. “Never in the history of Congress, no matter if it was the Civil War, whatever battle was before us, Congress always met. We should lead by example. But these [Members of Congress] have always been paid. They’re getting paid and they never show up to work.”
