Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the September jobs report:

“For six years now, the American people have been wondering when they will see a change in an economy that underperforms and discourages opportunity. The last time the labor participation rate was this low was in October of 1977, and the labor participation of those age 25-54 even dropped since last month.

“From EPA regulations to Obamacare and beyond, it has become evident that the Obama Administration is tone deaf to what is slowing down the growth of our economy and limiting the number of jobs America can create. His anti-growth policies have hurt our country long enough. We must take a new path with new policies that don’t put the brakes on economic growth. That has been our focus in the House and will continue to be.”
