Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on serving as a conferee in the House and Senate conference committee on opioid legislation:

“Communities and families in every district across the country need help to turn back the tide of opioid addiction. Legislation in the House and Senate will help, from curbing prescription abuse to stopping overdoses to helping those in recovery. The House and Senate are united in our commitment to offer solutions to the American people that will work effectively and quickly. I look forward to getting to work.”
