Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-22) released the following statement in remembrance of the victims of attacks on September 11, 2001:

“Today we remember the thousands of Americans who perished in the most deadly attack on U.S. soil. In the days that followed, America came together not only to comfort grieving families, friends and neighbors, but also to rally around the principles of freedom and liberty which came under attack that day. I will never forget the scenes of firefighters clearing the rubble from Ground Zero in search of survivors and fallen brothers and sisters, the flag that was draped over the side of the Pentagon, and the inspiring accounts that spoke to the courage of those on board Flight 93 that spared untold innocent lives. We will never forget the lives of those we lost that day, nor the strength, courage and resolve that united an entire nation in the days and years that followed.”
