“I’m thankful for the honor to serve and this week we have five very important bills on the floor.

“The MINER Act by Representative Tom Emmer will help return states rights and help create jobs–this is a priority for this Congress.

“We’ll also vote on the reauthorization of the Brownfields program by Representative Dave McKinley. Every single district has a Brownfield. We want to environmentally clean those areas up and help create more jobs in those communities as well.

“The EQUALS Act, authored by Representative James Comer will provide the time necessary to make sure new federal employees are the right fit for their new taxpayer funded role. This is another example of accountability in government.

“The Manufactured Housing Act of 2017 by Representative Andy Barr will ensure fair lending standards to help people own their own homes.

“Representative Barbara Comstock’s bill which requires each member and office to complete sexual harassment every year. This is something that we take very seriously, you have watched Chairman Harper in his hearings–this is just the beginning and not the end of where we are going. I will finish my education and training session today and my entire office will be done by the end of this month.

“One note that I want to make is as the Senate continues to work hard this week to pass tax reform…they had a big day out of committee yesterday. We believe they will get their work done this week and we want to make sure we move to go to conference as quickly as possible. I advised all members of our conference today that their schedule should be flexible. We may be here later on Friday or if we need to we’ll come back on Monday. We will make sure to get tax reform and cuts done for the American public.”
