Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the White House’s announcement that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is taking action to reorganize the federal government:

“Anyone who has ever dealt with a federal agency or tried to get something done in Washington knows that government doesn’t operate particularly well. Waste is rampant, abuses are common, and inefficiency is the norm. The American people expect and deserve a government that operates efficiently, effectively, and in their interests. I wholeheartedly support OMB’s decision to review the massive web of federal bureaucracy, find what is duplicative, wasteful, or unnecessary, and take action to modernize and streamline how government operates. These actions will go a long way towards ensuring our government serves the people, not itself.”
