Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision to keep the injunction on President Obama’s illegal immigration actions:

Today, the Fifth Circuit rejected the Obama Administration’s request to lift the injunction against the President’s executive action on immigration, which effectively blocks its implementation. The Constitution is clear: the President can’t write and rewrite laws when it’s politically expedient for him. Only Congress has the authority to make law.”
