It started years ago, and as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is over, it’s the McCarthys versus the Wicks in a card game called spoons.

You pass cards around trying to get four of a kind, and there’s one fewer spoon than the number of people playing—kind of like musical chairs. And it gets rather competitive as family members grasp at the spoons on the table.

This Thanksgiving, I’m particularly thankful for my health and for the opportunity to be with my family and keep such a fun tradition going. I’m also thankful to be in America. I know the country is divided right now, but it’s my hope we can all pause this holiday season to realize that we are living in one of the best times in our nation’s history. That’s something we can all be thankful for.
