Our strategy, whether in communications or policy, has to be visionary. That doesn’t mean pie in the sky type of stuff, but rather a vision for the country and communities we want to build.

Now is the time to commit to such ambitious efforts across the board if we want to strengthen the country’s foundation and create an environment for the American people to thrive.

Shutting down again is not an option — that would indicate a failure to prepare.
