Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the rollout of the House’s anti-poverty agenda:

“Poverty is a problem that continues to plague America, but that doesn’t mean it should be accepted. Every American should have a path to a good paying job and the ability to support themselves and their families. Sadly, what Washington has been doing for decades hasn’t worked. It’s time to rethink our anti-poverty programs with a focus on results. Thanks to the work of the House Republican Conference led by Chairmen Mike Conaway (TX-11), Tom Price (GA-06) John Kline (MN-02), Jeb Hensarling (TX-05), and Kevin Brady (TX-08), the House is presenting new ideas to finally tackle poverty, which has kept so many people from reaching their full potential.”
