Gallup: “U.S. Economic Confidence Plunges In Early June. “A sharp deterioration in the jobs outlook and six straight weeks of Wall Street declines sent Americans’ confidence in the U.S. economy plunging to an average of -35 during the week ending June 12 — a decline of nine percentage points from two weeks ago, and six points worse than it was in the same week a year ago.” (Dennis Jacobe, “U.S. Economic Confidence Plunges in Early June,” Gallup, 6/14/11)

80% Say The Economy Is In Poor Shape. “More than eight in ten Americans say that the economy is in poor shape, a number that has stubbornly remained at that level since March.” (CNN/Opinion Research Poll, 6/8/11)

60% Say Economy Has Not Recovered Under President Obama. “Nearly six in 10 say the economy has not started to recover, regardless of what official statistics may say, and most of those who say it has improved rate the recovery as weak.” (Dan Balz & Jon Cohen, “Obama Loses Bin Laden Bounce; Romney On The Move Among GOP Contenders,” The Washington Post, 6/7/11)
